A Birdwatcher's Paradise

Located within an Internationally designated Ramsar Site (Wetlands of International importance). The indigenous forests and protected lakes areas, lends itself to excellent bird watching. The Malachite Kingfisher Hide and the Rondevlei Bird Hide are close to Belle Forêt and provide a peaceful location from which to view a multitude of birdlife.

For the adventurous...

Hiking, kloofing and cycling enthusiasts will love the Garden Route’s many trails on offer, with stunning views and challenging routes. Surfing, kite surfing, boogie boarding and body surfing can be enjoyed at any of our nearby beaches. Eden Adventures offers canoeing along the Touw River, where one can picnic at the waterfall or along the banks of the river. Paragliding is very popular along the Garden Route and thrill seekers are welcome to visit our many launch sites.

Lakes and sea nearby for Water Sport lovers and Fishing enthusiasts. Lakes within our area are hosts to a large variety of aquatic species with an abundance of birdlife. Sports in the surrounding area include canoeing, cycling, abseiling, kloofing, paragliding, boating, fishing, hiking, quad biking to name but a few.
